Enhancing collaboration and decision-making in organizational design.
Initially a project that stemmed from a Parsons class, Jungle Tarot's focus was on democratizing power structures and decision-making, specifically in corporate or workplace settings.

From survival guides to navigating decision-making.
We then started to focus on understanding decision-making, and how we could encourage accountability in those spaces as well.
The Research
Research began with interviewing employees, founders, and creative studios.

Insights & Synthesis
We went to work and synthesized the insights from the interviews. We mainly asked them about their experiences on decision-making, innovation best practices, and the corporate work environment.

Knowing the corporate innovation journey: Interviews, mapping, and processes
By also mapping key activities, mindsets, and emotions from three main layers of corporate hierarchy, we got a better understanding of the user, and who is in the corporate jungle. Through expert interviews, we also were able to zone in on the main idea.

The Result: A Reframing for Jungle Tarot
From our research and insights, we also asked about where democratic decisions might live in the corporate jungle: Perhaps in decisions that concern employees most directly? HR or workplace policy or culture? We looked at the back-end, going behind the scenes of business operations, and looked at how decision-making looks like in innovation teams.
The result was Jungle Tarot, a strategic innovation and decision-making tool for the corporate jungle.

Jungle Tarot is meant to support anyone navigating complexity in their organizational contexts.
If something feels off beneath the surface of a strategy, an unspoken dynamic, a blind spot, a human factor no one is naming, this deck helps find the words. It can also uncover hidden strengths and help teams take an asset-based approach.

Understanding Patterns through Jungle Tarot
Jungle Tarot is a strategic reflection tool that reveals hidden stakeholders, power dynamics, emotional currents, and systemic patterns inside organizations.
It is not fortune telling. It is a speculative design practice for real decision-making.
Every organization is a living ecosystem. Jungle Tarot helps you read its patterns and design what comes next.

How it Works: Readings as Strategy Sessions
Jungle Tarot works through three main steps: Grounding, Seeking, and Reading.

By understanding the problem and shifting the perspective, it offers clarity or possibly resolution to the situation at hand.

Launch Event at Farm.One
We then launched at farm.one in Brooklyn, New York City, inviting designers, strategists, and innovators from multiple disciplines to use the cards.
Through Luma, the event made it to the Featured list, with 140+ guests on the list.

Reflection
As design strategists and innovators, it is important to understand how decision-making and innovation works, especially in the corporate space. We get fazed about innovation because it goes through multiple decision hoops before it gets shipped or launched.
Jungle Tarot gives an opportunity to bring in decision-making at teams levels, and not just in the boardroom. Innovation then becomes more welcomed, and open to discussion.
